71 percent of applicants to the University of Louisiana at Monroe were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Louisiana at Monroe, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Monroe enrolled 9,291 students in fall 2018, including 7,788 in undergraduate and 1,503 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 7 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (63 percent) and Black or African American (23 percent).

The school admitted 71 percent of the 4,253 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 43 percent enrolled.
