How many Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students were enrolled in Union Parish schools in 2023-24 school year?

There were two Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students enrolled in Union Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Union Parish welcomed 2,673 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the parish.

Downsville Community Charter School was the only school in the parish which enrolled Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students, welcoming two students in the 2023-24 school year.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
