How many Black students were enrolled in Franklin Parish schools in 2023-24 school year?

There were 1,334 Black students enrolled in Franklin Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1.3% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Franklin Parish welcomed 2,496 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 53.4% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the six schools within the parish, Winnsboro Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 401 students.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
