Franklin Parish Education: 2,496 students were enrolled in 2023-24 school year

There were 2,496 students enrolled in Franklin Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 5.5% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also showed that Black students made up 53.4% of the student body, the largest percentage in the parish, followed by 42.9% white students, 1% Hispanic students and 0.2% Asian students.

Franklin Parish High School had the highest enrolment among Franklin Parish's schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 690 students.

According to a 2023 Scholaroo study, Louisiana's education system ranked 49th in the U.S., only ahead of Arizona. The state ranked poorly in key metrics such as school quality, student achievement, and student safety.
