Larry Bratton, currently serving as Ouachita Parish's District C Police Juror, has made flood mitigation projects a key part of his campaign for re-election. Since the 2016 Ouachita Parish floods, Bratton has helped secure funding and approval for several flood mitigation projects to prevent excessive flooding in the future.

Bratton's dedication to flood mitigation is evident in his campaign pledge to pursue funding for future mitigation plans. He aims to work with State and Federal officials to direct much-needed funding to the area.

Bratton's campaign website highlights a variety of completed projects aimed at protecting Ouachita Parish from the devastating flood damage experienced in 2016. These projects include new drainage systems and the installation of several pumping stations, including 10 mobile pumps.

The 2016 floods in Ouachita Parish were described as "unprecedented" by Ouachita Parish Police Jury President Shane Smiley, according to the Louisiana Watershed Initiative.

Residents of District C, including Gene Berry, have expressed their support for Bratton's re-election campaign. Berry, in his endorsement of Bratton on his campaign website, commends him for his hard work in the community, particularly in relation to flood mitigation.

Bratton, a Republican, is seeking re-election in District C. The elections for the Ouachita Parish Police Jury Board, which will elect police jurors for six districts, will be held on Saturday, October 14, according to the Secretary of State's office. Police jurors serve four-year terms.

During his time on the Police Jury Board, Bratton has focused on economic growth, infrastructure development, and safety, according to his official bio on the Parish's website.

Bratton's commitment to public service extends beyond his role as a police juror. He is a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and Northeast Louisiana State University. Bratton currently works at AT&T as the engineering manager for the Monroe and Alexandria areas. He has also served on various boards and held advisory positions within the community.

With Bratton's track record and dedication to flood mitigation, voters in District C will have an opportunity to evaluate his accomplishments and decide if he should continue serving as their Police Juror in the upcoming elections.
