East Carroll Parish Education: 2 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2023-24 school year

There were two Hispanic students enrolled in East Carroll Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 33.3% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that East Carroll Parish welcomed 755 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the three schools within the parish, General Trass High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of one student.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
