250 students were enrolled for 9th grade in Morehouse Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 250 ninth grade students enrolled in Morehouse Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.8% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Bastrop High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Morehouse Parish schools, the most students were found in seventh grade classes, while 11th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Morehouse Parish ranked 22nd lowest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 21st lowest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
