There were 330 students enrolled in Tensas Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.7% of them were boys, and 47.3% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black or African American, representing 87.3% of the Tensas Parish School District total enrollment.

Tensas Parish School District covers approximately two schools within Tensas Parish, with its main office in St. Joseph.

Among the two schools in Tensas Parish School District, Tensas High School recorded the highest enrollment of 172 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021-22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
