The University of Louisiana Monroe women’s golf team finished the first round of the NCAA Regionals in Tallahassee on May 11, ending the day tied for fourth place. The Warhawks are even with Eastern Michigan, with both teams among just five to shoot under par. ULM recorded a team score of 287, one under par, after the opening 18 holes.

This performance puts ULM in a strong position as they aim to advance further in the tournament. Finishing within the top four after day one gives them momentum heading into subsequent rounds.

Johanna Sjursen led ULM by sinking six birdies and finishing with a score of 69, three under par, which ties her for second place individually. Senior Anna Andrysova also contributed by shooting a 71, one under par, and landing at twelfth on the leaderboard with five birdies. Daniela Campillo is currently twenty-second with a score of 73 (+1), while Emma Manzini follows closely behind at seventy-four (+2). Zoe McLean-Tattan completed her round seven over par.

Host Florida leads all teams after shooting a combined score of 283 (-5). Florida State and Wake Forest are tied for second at three under par each. Janae Leovao from Eastern Michigan leads all individuals at four under through eighteen holes. Several players—including Clemson’s Isabella Rawl, Wake Forest’s Chloe Kovelesky, Florida’s Siuue Wu and Florida State’s Sophia Fullbrook—are tied with Sjursen for second place at three under.

ULM will continue its play at Seminole Legacy Golf Club on Tuesday (May 12), starting their next round at 7 a.m. Central Time.
