Tensas Parish Education: 9 multiracial students were enrolled in schools in 2023-24 school year

There were nine multiracial students enrolled in Tensas Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Tensas Parish welcomed 331 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 2.7% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the parish.

Tensas Elementary School was the only school in the parish which enrolled multiracial students, welcoming nine students in the 2023-24 school year.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
