Census Bureau: More women than men in Mer Rouge in 2019

Of the 546 people living in Mer Rouge in 2019, 52.9 percent (289) were women and 47.1 percent (257) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the NE Louisiana News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 145-to-135. In the 65 and over age range, there were 100 females and 57 males.
