Congresswoman Julia Letlow has expressed her support following the congressional approval of President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The bill is designed to offer tax relief and support various sectors, including families, seniors, and farmers.
“With passage of President Trump’s pro-family agenda, we have provided tax relief for the middle class and saved every American from a tax increase. Our working families and seniors will see new relief through a bigger child tax credit, eliminating taxes on tips, and a tax cut for retirees on Social Security,” Letlow stated. She emphasized that the bill provides certainty for farmers with reauthorization of key Farm Bill policies and updated reference prices for commodities. Letlow added that she would continue advocating for her district as the bill is implemented.
The bill includes several measures aimed at providing financial relief. It permanently extends the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts, preventing an average $1,700 tax hike for American families. It also eliminates taxes on tips up to $25,000 annually and overtime pay up to $12,500 annually. The doubled standard deduction for middle-class families is extended permanently along with an additional $1,500 deduction.
For families with children, the bill extends the doubled child tax credit permanently and adds an extra $400 for a family of four. Retirees on Social Security will benefit from an added $6,000 tax deduction aimed at low- and middle-income seniors.
Additional provisions include strengthened tax incentives for paid leave and child care under the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit and Flexible Spending Arrangements. The 20% small business deduction is also extended permanently for family-owned farms and other small businesses.
The legislation updates reference prices for farm commodities while providing new enforcement resources to bolster border security efforts by the Trump Administration.
