Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to share updates on federal relief for farmers, education policy, and family tax credits.
On August 5, 2025, Letlow posted about disaster assistance for agricultural producers: “If you’re a farmer and suffered disaster-related losses in 2023 or 2024, you’re eligible to apply for help from @USDA’s Supplemental Disaster Relief Program.”
Later that day, she commented on education policy initiatives: “.@EdSecMcMahon is rightly focused on removing bureaucracy, letting teachers teach, and improving education for the next generation.”
In an evening post on August 5, Letlow highlighted recent legislative changes affecting families: “Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, a family of four will be able to claim an additional $400 Child Tax Credit on their taxes next year. I’ll continue to support policies which support parents and families.”
Letlow has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Ralph Abraham. She previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe in 1981 and currently residing in Start, Letlow earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002.
