Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to express support for President Trump and highlight legislative achievements under his administration.
On July 21, 2025, Letlow posted, “Six months into his second term, it’s clear that President Trump is an incredibly successful and consequential President. From secure borders to across the board tax relief to shaking up Washington, @POTUS is leading America in the right direction.”
Later that day, she emphasized tax relief measures for seniors: “Under President Trump’s leadership, we provided expanded tax relief for seniors on Social Security. According to a new study, the Big Beautiful Bill ensures 88% of seniors who receive Social Security will pay no taxes on their benefits.” This statement references recent policy changes designed to reduce or eliminate federal taxation on Social Security benefits for most recipients.
In a subsequent post on July 21, Letlow discussed agricultural support included in recent legislation: “The Big, Beautiful Bill provided significant support for Louisiana farmers, including through my Drought Assistance Improvement Act which was included in the bill. These reforms will strengthen disaster relief for livestock producers by allowing more timely payments for” The Drought Assistance Improvement Act aims to expedite financial aid for affected livestock producers.
Letlow has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe and currently residing in Start at age 42, she holds a BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
