Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted recent legislative achievements and constituent engagement in a series of posts on August 20, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Letlow announced significant financial benefits for Louisiana public servants following recent legislative changes: “Thanks to our work to pass the Social Security Fairness Act and repeal WEP/GPO provisions, $669 million in earned, retroactive benefits have been paid out to our Louisiana public servants.” (August 20, 2025)

Later that morning, Letlow thanked local business leaders for hosting her at a community event focused on economic policy: “Thanks to the Concordia Chamber of Commerce for hosting me for a great conversation about how the Big Beautiful Bill will lower taxes for families and job creators and help grow our economy.” (August 20, 2025)

In a subsequent post that afternoon, she referenced federal legislation affecting agricultural policy: “President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill was a big win for our farmers. In addition to updating reference prices for commodities, it included my legislation to strengthen disaster relief for our Louisiana livestock producers. Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since replacing Ralph Abraham in 2021. She previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and is originally from Monroe, Louisiana. Born in 1981, she resides in Start and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor’s degree in 2002.
