Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media regarding legislative actions and meetings with educational leaders.
On July 24, 2025, Letlow credited former President Trump for influencing a policy change by the U.S. Olympic Committee. She wrote, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. Olympic Committee has finally aligned with common sense and agreed to ban biological men from competing in women’s sports.”
Later that day, Letlow highlighted her engagement with higher education leaders in Washington D.C., stating, “I always look forward to meeting with fellow educators in DC. Loved chatting with @Tulane University President Mike Fitts about supporting higher education and setting students up for success!” The tweet referenced her discussion with Tulane University’s president on advancing support for students.
On July 25, 2025, Letlow announced legislative progress related to Louisiana State University (LSU). She posted, “The House passed a bill I cosponsored and strongly supported to give Louisiana State University its own zip code. It’s time for a unique campus zip code so we can ensure efficient services for the growing community at @LSU!”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and holds a BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Born in Monroe in 1981, she currently resides in Start.
