Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on August 14, 2025, highlighting developments in healthcare and education within her constituency.
On August 14, Letlow attended an event marking the launch of St. Francis Medical Center’s new power plant in Monroe. She wrote: “What a great day in Monroe celebrating the launch of St. Francis Medical Center’s new power plant! This $48 million project will improve emergency preparation, give patients greater peace of mind, and improve healthcare delivery in Northeast Louisiana. I was proud to help get” (August 14, 2025).
Later that day, she praised educational progress in Louisiana by quoting recent achievements: “A standout success story in American education…the only state to improve upon its literacy rate since 2019.” She continued, “We are becoming a model for expanding learning opportunities and achieving results. Proud of the work our teachers and staff are doing to give our children a future!” (August 14, 2025).
In another post from August 14, Letlow referenced her role on the Appropriations Committee: “My seat on the Appropriations Committee is providing real benefits to Louisiana as we bring home vital funding to improve health care delivery. Loved joining the dedicated crew at @stfrancishealth this week!”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since replacing Ralph Abraham in Congress in 2021. Prior to her current role, she served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and holds a degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
