Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting her recent efforts in law enforcement funding, support for pregnancy resource centers, and federal appropriations for infrastructure projects.
On January 21, 2026, Letlow posted about securing resources for law enforcement across Louisiana: “Those who serve and protect our communities need reliable equipment to fight crime. I delivered new funding to support new vehicles and technology for law enforcement throughout Louisiana. I will always support our law enforcement community.” (January 21, 2026).
Later that same day, she addressed the work of pregnancy resource centers and expressed concern over political challenges faced by these organizations: “Pregnancy Resource Centers do amazing work to support moms and their babies through treatment, education, and pre-natal care. Unfortunately these faith based-organizations often face political attacks and funding threats from the far-left. I supported H.R. 6945 to protect the” (January 21, 2026).
On January 23, Letlow discussed federal appropriations aimed at benefiting both North and South Louisiana while emphasizing reduced overall spending: “With today’s passage of our final FY 26 appropriations bill, I’m proud to have delivered more targeted federal funding for both North and South Louisiana. These wins come as we DECREASE overall spending and fund key infrastructure projects without Green New Deal mandates (as” (January 23, 2026).
Letlow has served in Congress since replacing Ralph Abraham in 2021. She previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe in 1981 and residing in Start, she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor’s degree in 2002.
