Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her recent activities and advocacy for education in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) this week.
On August 11, Letlow posted about an event with Secretary McMahon in Baton Rouge: “Couldn’t contain my excitement while welcoming Secretary McMahon to Baton Rouge this morning! We toured Great Hearts Harveston Charter School – a living example of the strides Louisiana is making in education. Thank you @EdSecMcMahon for empowering states to lead the way!”
Two days later, on August 13, she announced an upcoming radio appearance: “I’ll be joining @brianhaldane at 8:35 am CT this morning! Listen live at https://t.co/0vdTcYrYJL”
Later that same day, Letlow again acknowledged Secretary McMahon’s support: “Thanks to @EdSecMcMahon for your support of our schools and for working with us to advance school choice!”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and holds a BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, Letlow currently resides in Start.
