Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight efforts on public safety, regulatory changes affecting American workers, and education policy.
On August 21, 2025, Letlow praised local officials for their work to improve community safety. She wrote, “.@AGLizMurrill, @LAGovJeffLandry and our law enforcement community are working tirelessly to reduce violent crime and increase public safety.”
Later that day, Letlow addressed federal regulatory changes impacting the agricultural and transportation sectors. She stated on August 21, 2025: “President Trump’s @EPA is supporting American workers by cutting burdensome diesel fuel regulations and ensuring our farmers and truckers have reliable engine power for their equipment.”
In a third post on August 21, 2025, Letlow commented on educational governance: “I agree with President Trump and @EDSecMcMahon – education decision making belongs in states, classrooms and local communities, not Washington DC.”
Letlow has served as the representative for Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe in 1981 and currently residing in Start, Letlow graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a BA in 2002.
