Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on July 29, 2025, highlighting legislative efforts and local engagement related to energy policy and border security.
In a post early that morning, Letlow stated, “The One Big Beautiful Bill is a huge win for our Louisiana energy. We are restoring AMERICAN energy dominance by reversing regulations that drove up energy prices and empowering domestic oil and gas production.” (July 29, 2025).
Later in the day, she addressed border security measures: “In the past two months, a grand total of zero illegal immigrants were let loose in the U.S. President Trump has shut down the border, and the Big Beautiful Bill will finish the job through: – More ICE agents – Increased funding to deport criminals – Construction of the wall” (July 29, 2025).
Letlow also noted her participation in a community event: “Loved joining the Monroe Chamber of Commerce to visit with friends and chat about appropriations, education, and how the Big Beautiful Bill will help our local economies!” (July 29, 2025).
Letlow has served as U.S. Representative for Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe in 1981 and currently residing in Start, Letlow graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a BA in 2002.
