Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her recent activities through a series of posts on November 4 and 5, 2025.
On November 4, Letlow highlighted her engagement with students at Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She wrote, “Always love spending time with America’s future leaders! Joined a great group of civic-minded students at Baton Rouge Magnet High School to listen to their thoughts on issues facing our country. I was honored to receive the Magnet Schools Champion of Excellence award for my”.
Later that day, Letlow discussed her visit to St. Vincent de Paul in Baton Rouge during an ongoing government shutdown. She stated, “Our food banks are stepping up to support families in need during the shutdown. Visited St. Vincent de Paul in Baton Rouge today to serve food and visit with the selfless volunteers committed to helping their friends and neighbors.”
The following day, November 5, she called for an end to the shutdown and restoration of services for vulnerable communities: “We all should do what we can to lend a helping hand during the shutdown. It’s time to stop the political games and reopen the government so we can restore full food assistance to needy families.”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since replacing Ralph Abraham in 2021 and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, she currently resides in Start and is an alumna of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
