Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021, has been active in addressing key issues through her recent communications on social media. Her focus ranges from disaster relief efforts to economic development and healthcare.
On July 9, 2025, Letlow highlighted the impact of natural disasters on agricultural operations. She stated, “Natural disasters have hindered operations on the farm. That’s why I’ve supported disaster relief in Congress, and now @SecRollins is working overtime to deliver.” She emphasized that individuals who experienced disaster-related losses in 2023 or 2024 are eligible for assistance.
The following day, July 10, Letlow announced a significant development for North Louisiana. She shared that the Department of Transportation had designated the Ouachita River as a U.S. Marine Highway. In her post, she expressed enthusiasm about this advancement: “Great news for North Louisiana with @DOT announcing that the Ouachita River will now be designated as a U.S. Marine Highway!” Letlow noted her advocacy for this designation as a means to unlock new economic opportunities in the region.
Later on July 10, Letlow visited West Feliciana hospital to engage with rural health providers and assess their needs firsthand. She reported on her visit by saying: “Stopped by the West Feliciana hospital to tour their amazing facility and learn about the needs of rural health providers.” This visit was part of her broader efforts to connect with constituents across Louisiana’s 5th District.
Letlow replaced Ralph Abraham in Congress after serving in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, she currently resides in Start and holds a BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
