Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing federal education policy, international trade agreements, and local campus services.
On July 28, 2025, Letlow expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s approach to federalism in education. She wrote: “President Trump is right to restore the Department of Education’s power back to the states.”
Later that day, Letlow commented on a new trade agreement between the United States and the European Union. In her post she stated: “President Trump’s historic EU trade deal is a win for American energy, American farmers, and American workers. @POTUS’ America First economic agenda is opening new markets and restoring fair trade!” The remarks reflect ongoing discussions about U.S.-EU relations and domestic economic priorities.
On July 29, 2025, Letlow addressed an issue affecting students at Louisiana State University (LSU), advocating for improved campus infrastructure. She posted: “It’s time for a unique campus zip code at @LSU so we can ensure timely mail delivery and improve overall services for students and academic departments.”
Letlow has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives and was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981.
