Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on August 26 and 27 regarding emergency response efforts, local economic development, and advancements in technology and manufacturing within her state.
On August 26, Letlow addressed residents affected by a fire near Smitty’s Supply in Roseland. She wrote: “Residents of Roseland near Smitty’s Supply can return to their homes, but roadway closures are still in place near the scene of the fire. My office continues to be on the ground and in touch with local leaders and EPA officials. Please continue to follow emergency guidance.”
Later that evening, Letlow highlighted technological progress in Richland Parish. On August 26 she stated: “Louisiana’s own Richland Parish is destined to be a LEADER in AI development. Thank you President Trump for highlighting our progress!”
On August 27, Letlow emphasized the importance of advanced manufacturing for North Louisiana’s economy. She posted: “Advanced manufacturing is critical to an economic revival in North Louisiana. Thrilled to join @LAGovJeffLandry at @LATech for a huge announcement that will create high-paying jobs and strengthen America’s national security.”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, Letlow currently resides in Start and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
