Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on her official Twitter account addressing education policy, student achievements, and economic development initiatives.
On July 18, 2025, Letlow posted: “Parents should ALWAYS have a seat at the table when it comes to their child’s education. While parents were fighting for a better education for their kids, Biden AG Merrick Garland was using the power of the federal government to silence them.”
The following day, July 19, she highlighted local student efforts: “Proud of this outstanding group of students from Bastrop High School for dedicating their summer break to making their school shine!”
On July 20, Letlow commented on an economic initiative related to regional infrastructure: “This designation for the Ouachita River will spur rural economic development and increase opportunities for infrastructure improvements and job creation.”
Letlow has served as the U.S. Representative for Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives and is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Born in Monroe in 1981, Letlow currently resides in Start.
