Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who has represented Louisiana’s 5th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared her views and activities on social media. Her posts addressed concerns over government spending, celebrated a local art competition winner, and affirmed her stance on international relations.
On June 12, 2025, Letlow expressed concerns about fiscal responsibility in government spending. She stated that “Americans are rightly concerned with how their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent. Just like every Louisiana family has to do, Congress must confront rising debt by cutting back on spending we can’t afford.“
Later that day, she highlighted a positive community event involving young talent from her district. She wrote about meeting Gabrielle Sibley, the winner of the 5th District Art Competition from Livingston Parish. According to Letlow’s post: “Loved meeting our talented 5th District Art Competition winner, Gabrielle Sibley from Livingston Parish! Gabrielle came to DC to receive her formal recognition for her drawing “Viking,” which now hangs in the U.S. Capitol.“
On June 13, 2025, Letlow addressed international security issues concerning Israel and Iran. She stated: “I stand with our ally Israel against the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism who threatens the security of both Israel and America. Israel has the right to defend itself against the imminent threat of a nuclear Iran.“
Julia Letlow was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981 and currently resides in Start. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a BA in 2002.
