Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several policy issues on her social media account, focusing on prescription drug costs, welfare program oversight, and election security.
On March 12, 2026, Letlow highlighted efforts by the Biden administration to address medication affordability: ” Through https://t.co/501Jsfc1OA, @POTUS is working tirelessly to lower prescription drug costs. By pursuing better deals for a wide array of drugs, we can expand consumer choice and lower costs for Americans.”
Later that day, she commented on concerns regarding Minnesota’s welfare programs: “Minnesota’s welfare programs were supposed to provide child care services, but instead defrauded taxpayers. Our @EdWorkforceCmte has already moved legislation to protect taxpayers and strengthen oversight of child care programs.”
On March 13, 2026, Letlow turned her attention to election integrity measures: “We did our part in the House to secure our elections by passing the SAVE America Act. The Senate needs to step up and invoke a talking filibuster requirement to protect election integrity.”
Letlow has represented Louisiana’s 5th District since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981. Letlow graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.
