Louisiana Congresswoman Julia Letlow recognized LSU’s national champion baseball team in the U.S. House of Representatives. On Sunday, LSU secured their eighth NCAA Division I baseball title, concluding a 53-win season with an undefeated College World Series performance. Letlow represents the district that includes LSU’s campus.
In her remarks, Letlow stated: “I rise to congratulate the Louisiana State University baseball team for taking home their eighth national title.” She highlighted the leadership of Coach Jay Johnson, under whom LSU achieved its second title in three years. The team’s success was marked by both athletic excellence and commendable character, contributing positively to the Baton Rouge community.
Letlow expressed pride in following the team’s journey alongside her constituents and echoed ESPN’s praise of LSU as the “Greatest Ever College Baseball Program.” She remarked that this victory symbolized more than just winning a trophy; it demonstrated Louisiana’s resilient spirit.
She concluded with gratitude towards the players, coaches, and staff for inspiring future generations and representing Louisiana honorably on a national level.
