Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who represents Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media detailing her recent activities and responses to local events.

On August 22, 2025, Letlow shared her participation in a discussion with business leaders regarding proposed economic legislation. She wrote, “Joined the @USChamber and @TangiChamber for a discussion with local job creators about how the One Big Beautiful Bill will lower taxes and grow the economy.”

Later that day, she addressed an emergency situation in Tangipahoa Parish. In her post, she stated, “Local residents and travelers near Roseland in Tangipahoa Parish should follow emergency guidance and avoid the area. Praying for anyone affected by today’s explosion.” The message was directed at both residents and travelers to remain cautious following an explosion.

On August 23, Letlow highlighted her visit to an educational institution in New Orleans. She wrote, “Great visit to Star Academy in New Orleans to see their work to provide innovative learning and career opportunities. Star Academy currently has 17 programs providing hands-on learning opportunities for students in the 5th District.”

Letlow has served as Louisiana’s 5th District representative since 2021 after succeeding Ralph Abraham. She previously held a position in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, Letlow is now based in Start and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002.
