Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who has represented Louisiana’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, has recently shared a series of statements on her official social media platform regarding federal policy, legislative achievements, and economic development efforts in her home state. Letlow, a Monroe native and University of Louisiana at Monroe graduate, succeeded Ralph Abraham in Congress and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives.
On July 10, 2025, Letlow addressed Title IX protections for female athletes, stating: “The Trump Administration continues to deliver on their promise to protect the rights of female athletes. Title IX exists to protect our women and girls from discrimination, and we must uphold that guarantee against encroachment from states like California.”
In another post dated July 11, 2025, Letlow expressed support for recent legislative developments in Congress: “All Americans should be excited about the Big, Beautiful Bill that will leave more money in their pockets and implement the Trump Agenda. @SpeakerJohnson and @SteveScalise did a tremendous job getting it across the finish line!”
Later that same day on July 11, 2025, Letlow highlighted local economic activity during a visit to Syrah Technologies’ facility in Vidalia: “Stopped by Syrah Technologies in Vidalia to visit and hear about their manufacturing efforts. Syrah is playing a key role in reducing America’s dependence on Chinese minerals and is expanding their presence in rural Louisiana.”
Letlow was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981 and currently resides in Start. She earned her BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002.
