Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana’s 5th district since 2021, has recently addressed several issues through her social media platform. Her focus spans from public health concerns to family and senior citizen tax relief measures.
On June 18, 2025, Congresswoman Letlow emphasized the need for innovative strategies to combat fentanyl overdoses. She urged the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to provide Louisiana law enforcement with increased flexibility in utilizing opioid reversal tools. “It’s time for more innovative approaches to stemming deadly overdoses caused by fentanyl.”
Later that day, she expressed her support for making child-rearing more affordable as a means of empowering families. Citing her experience as a working mother, Letlow called on Congress to implement pro-family tax relief measures aligned with the Trump agenda. “As a working mom, I know that the best way we can empower families is by making it more affordable to raise children.”
In another post on June 18, Letlow highlighted the House-passed One, Big, Beautiful Bill which proposes a $4,000 tax deduction for middle and lower-income senior citizens. She reiterated her commitment alongside President Trump to secure this tax relief for seniors in Louisiana. “The House-passed One, Big, Beautiful Bill provides a $4,000 tax deduction for our middle and lower-income senior citizens – ensuring relief for millions of taxpayers in Louisiana.”
Julia Letlow was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981 and currently resides in Start. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
