There were 755 students enrolled in East Carroll Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 2.2% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.
Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.
Data also showed that Black students made up 99.6% of the student body, the largest percentage in the parish, followed by 0.3% Hispanic students, 0.1% white students.
Southside Elementary School had the highest enrolment among East Carroll Parish’s schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 372 students.
